Stories and highlights

There's always something to celebrate at our school! From exciting events to proud moments and everyday wins, here are some of our highlights.

A year at our school

Golf Activation Day

Students in 4/5M and 5/6B had the exciting opportunity to attend the NSW Senior Open School Activation Day at  Thurgoona Country Club  — an inspiring day that brought learning, fun and skill-building together on the green.

The program introduced students to the world of competitive golf while helping them refine their own skills. Students had the opportunity to take part in hands-on coaching clinics run by experienced golfers.

Throughout the sessions students practised putting, chipping and driving, receiving personalised feedback on technique and swing fundamentals. As the day wrapped up, students left the Golf Club with new skills, great memories and a renewed motivation to bring their best to every swing.

Murray Conservatorium of Music

Students in K/1B, K/1M and 1/2R recently participated in an engaging music session with the Murray Conservatorium of Music. During the session, students explored the concepts of beat and rhythm while learning to play the djembe drums.

In the coming weeks, students in 2/3F, 3/4R, 4/5M and 5/6B will also have the opportunity to take part in this enjoyable and educational experience.

We extend our sincere thanks to the Murray Conservatorium of Music for providing this valuable incursion to all our students at no cost.

FAR Out! Treasures to the Bush – Stage 2 History Incursion

Our Stage 2 students enjoyed a special visit from the State Library of NSW’s Learning Team recently as part of their FAR Out! Treasures to the Bush regional education program. The incursion, focusing on navigators who mapped the Australian coastline, gave students a hands-on opportunity to examine rare collection items, learn about explorers such as Dirk Hartog and William Dampier and discover how early voyages helped shape our understanding of Australia.

Through storytelling, props and audience participation, students deepened their understanding of exploration, navigation and Aboriginal life before European arrival — all while supporting the HSIE curriculum content.

Swimming Carnivals

Our students from 8 years old have the opportunity to compete in our swimming carnival held each year in February.

Athletics Carnival

Our students in Years K-6 compete in our annual athletics carnival held each year in March.

Garden Club

Students actively participate in Garden Club, learning to grow and care for plants while fostering teamwork and environmental awareness.

Garden Club members work together to plant, nurture and beautify our school garden.

Our Garden Club encourages students to connect with nature and take pride in growing their own garden.
