There's always something to celebrate at our school! From exciting events to proud moments and everyday wins, here are some of our highlights.

A year at our school

Choir performing at Dellacourt

Our Junior and Senior Choir students recently enjoyed a special visit to Dellacourt, where they performed for residents and staff. The students sang beautifully and represented our school with pride, enthusiasm and respect.

It was a wonderful intergenerational experience, with both students and residents enjoying the opportunity to connect through music. Thank you to Ms Ciara Paramore, Mrs Bourke and Mr Beveridge who supported the excursion and to our choir students for sharing their talents so confidently.

Halve Waste Excursion

On Thursday 21st May, 4/5M visited the Albury Waste Management Centre to gather local information in their unit of study on waste. The tour took the class to parts of the landfill site not usually seen by the general public, and explained how things work when managing waste. There was discussion about why it is important to reduce the waste sent to landfill and what can be recycled.

The class very much enjoyed visiting the Tip Shop and a few students went home with ‘special treats’ at the end of the day.

As a follow-up to the visit, 4/5M will be gathering their soft plastic waste from lunchboxes for one week. It will be collected in dedicated soft plastic recycling orange bags and will then be sent for recycling through Halve Waste’s new recycling initiative. It will be interesting to see how much we can collect in a week.

NAIDOC Activities

Our students had the wonderful opportunity to participate in a range of engaging NAIDOC Week activities at MAMA and the Albury Library Museum.

At MAMA, students explored exhibitions and took part in hands-on activities that celebrated Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures, histories and stories. They enjoyed learning through art and discovering the significance of culture and connection to Country.

The Albury Library Museum provided another exciting opportunity for students to participate in NAIDOC-themed activities. Through stories, creative experiences and interactive learning, students gained a deeper appreciation of the rich cultures, achievements and contributions of Australia's First Nations peoples.

The excursion was not only educational but also fun, with students returning to school inspired by everything they had seen and experienced.

Murray Conservatorium

A huge thank you to the Murray Conservatorium of Music for running an immersive Jam Session under our COLA. Students were inspired to explore, create and connect through music, with plenty of smiles, rhythm and enthusiasm on display.

A special shout-out to Sam for his energy, passion and commitment to fostering a love of music in our students. Opportunities like these help build confidence, creativity and a lifelong appreciation for the arts.
