Wellbeing
At our school, student wellbeing and learning go hand in hand. We want every student to feel safe, included and ready to learn. Whether your child needs help with their mental, emotional, social or physical wellbeing, we are here to help them thrive at school and in daily life.
How we support student wellbeing
At Albury West Public School, we are committed to nurturing the whole child—academically, socially, and emotionally. Our wellbeing programs are designed to create a positive, inclusive, and supportive school environment where every student feels safe, valued, and ready to learn.
One of our key initiatives is the Positive Behaviour for Learning (PBL) framework. This evidence-based approach unites the whole school community to promote a safe and respectful learning culture. PBL enhances student outcomes by improving behaviour, emotional regulation, and academic engagement, while supporting teachers to focus on building strong relationships and maintaining high-quality instruction.
Our core school values—Respect, Responsibility, and Care—are embedded in everything we do.
We also implement The Resilience Project (TRP), a program designed to build students' resilience and support their mental health and happiness. TRP is based on four key pillars:
- Gratitude
- Empathy
- Mindfulness
- Emotional Literacy
Delivered through digital content, interactive lessons, and a year-long curriculum, TRP helps students develop lifelong habits that support their wellbeing and emotional awareness.
By combining proven frameworks like PBL and TRP, Albury West Public School empowers students to thrive—both in and out of the classroom—and equips them with the tools to lead happy, resilient, and fulfilling lives.
